How to play

How to Play Pocket Putt

Finish all five holes in as few strokes as you can. Read the whole green before the first putt, then use controlled shots to build a route to the cup.

  1. 01

Start the game and press or tap close to the ball. Drag away from the direction you want the ball to travel. The dotted guide points toward the shot and grows with the pull.

  2. 02

Release to putt. A short pull produces a gentler shot; a longer pull sends the ball farther. The guide communicates aim and relative power, but it is not a promise of the exact stopping point.

  3. 03

Wait until the ball has stopped before lining up the next stroke. Use open grass, rails, and obstacle edges to leave a manageable next angle rather than forcing every hole into one heroic shot.

  4. 04

Sink the ball to finish the hole. Before the next green, preview its layout and choose one of the offered sticker upgrades. Complete the fifth hole to record the course total and compare it with your best score in this browser.

About the game

A tiny golf course built around smart routes

Pocket Putt is a compact mini golf puzzle made for a complete playthrough in one short break. Its five greens begin with a clear straight shot, then add walls, narrow openings, route choices, and a final switchback. The challenge is less about hitting as hard as possible and more about deciding where the ball should stop so the next stroke stays simple.

Every hole contributes to one course total. You can compare that total with the best result saved in this browser, restart for a fresh run, or return later for another attempt. There is no account or cross-device score sync. The course is designed and built by Airy Arcade, and each run plays through all five holes in order.

Useful strategy

Pocket Putt tips for a cleaner scorecard

  • Begin with less power than you think you need. A ball that stops short usually leaves another controlled putt; an overhit ball can turn one obstacle into two problems.
  • Plan the landing area, not only the cup. On the later greens, a safe setup shot can create a straight second putt and cost fewer strokes than repeated recovery attempts.
  • Use the next-green preview when choosing a sticker. Pick the effect that suits the route in front of you instead of collecting upgrades by habit.
  • If a bank shot is hard to judge, aim for a broad section of rail. Tiny changes near a corner create much larger changes in the rebound direction.

Compare a direct putt with a setup shot

Before pulling back, identify the next place where you want the ball to stop. If the cup is behind a wall, drawing a line straight toward it will not remove the obstacle. Look for an open patch that gives you a clear second angle. The useful comparison is the likely whole route: one ambitious shot that may need recovery, or two controlled shots with generous space around their landing areas.

For example, when a wall blocks the center of the green, imagine a stopping point beyond one of its ends. Aim to leave enough room to line up the next stroke, rather than squeezing the ball tightly against the wall. Stopping a little farther into open grass may create a simpler second putt. A very short first shot can also be costly if it leaves the same wall blocking your next attempt.

Bank shots offer another route, but check both sides of the bounce. There must be room for the ball to reach the rail and room for the rebound to continue toward useful space. Aiming at a corner introduces another surface very close to the contact point, which makes the result harder to read. Start with a broad rail section and a moderate pull before trying a tight rebound near an obstacle.

Recover from a bad position and learn from the course

If a shot leaves the ball behind a barrier, stop planning the original route for a moment. Ask which direction now has the widest exit. A small recovery putt into open grass may be the quickest way back toward the cup, even if it initially points away from it. Repeating the blocked direct shot spends another stroke without changing the angle that caused the problem.

When an upgrade changes the feel of the ball, use the next open shot to recalibrate your pull. A route that worked before choosing Spring Rails may now rebound farther, while Feather Touch can leave the ball short of a familiar stopping point. Do not assume the same hand movement always gives the same result throughout a run. Watch where the ball actually settles and adjust the following stroke.

After the final hole, think about which green added avoidable strokes. If the narrow openings caused trouble, practice aim and choose a safer setup position on the next course. If most extra strokes came from passing the cup, try gentler finishing putts. Changing one repeated mistake is easier to judge than trying a completely new route and different sticker choices on every hole at once.

What each green asks you to learn

The course teaches one idea at a time. Hello, Green gives you room to learn the drag direction and pace. Around the Corner introduces a tall wall, so you need to set up a second angle or use a rail. Needle Gates asks for accuracy through staggered openings. Two-Way Bank puts a wide barrier between the ball and cup and lets you choose a side. Switchback Finale combines two offset walls into a longer route-planning test.

Pars describe the intended shape of each puzzle, but you can finish a hole in any number of strokes. When a route goes wrong, the useful question is where to leave the ball next. A calm recovery to open space is often better than another shot squeezed along the obstacle that caused the problem.

How the sticker choices change a run

After each of the first four holes, Pocket Putt offers three visible upgrades. Pocket Magnet gives slow nearby shots some pull toward the cup. Spring Rails make bank shots rebound with more energy. Feather Touch softens shots so they settle sooner. Choosing the same sticker again increases that effect for the remainder of the current run.

Each upgrade changes how later shots feel, so a familiar route may need a different amount of pull. Spring Rails reward deliberate banks but can carry an imprecise shot farther away. Feather Touch helps with close control but makes long travel require a stronger pull. Pocket Magnet helps only near the cup; it does not replace choosing a sound route across the green.

Quick answers

Pocket Putt FAQ

Should I aim to beat par on every hole?

Par gives you a reference, but your final result is the combined course total. If a risky shortcut keeps creating recovery strokes, a reliable route can be a better starting point. First learn how to finish each green with controlled shots, then experiment with reducing strokes where you can see a clear alternative.

How many holes are in Pocket Putt?

A full run contains five fixed miniature greens. Your strokes carry across the course, and the total is recorded after the fifth hole.

Why did the ball stop somewhere different from the dotted guide?

The dotted line shows your aim and relative shot power. Walls, distance, current sticker effects, and the ball slowing on the green all affect where it finishes.

What happens when I choose the same sticker twice?

That sticker advances to a higher level for the current run, strengthening the same visible effect. The choice resets when you begin a new run.

Does Pocket Putt save my progress?

The best completed course score is stored locally in this browser. An active run—including its current hole and sticker choices—is not saved, and nothing is synced to another device.
