How to play

How to Play Color Ball Escape

Identify the color of a hole, trace a clear route through matching balls, and watch what remains before moving the next hole.

  1. 01

Press Play and wait for the grid to appear. If an advertisement covers the game, use its visible Close Ad control when available rather than clicking the ad itself.

  2. 02

Locate each colored ball and the matching hole. On Level 1, the orange pair begins above the holes and the purple pair begins below them.

  3. 03

Press on a hole and drag it across the grid toward balls of the same color. Keep the pointer or finger down while drawing the route, then release.

  4. 04

Check which balls vanished and which remain. Move the other colored hole along a route that crosses its matching balls.

  5. 05

When the level-complete panel appears, read the result before continuing. If the board is still active, inspect any remaining color instead of repeating the same drag blindly.

About the game

A small sorting board with a moving exit for each color

Color Ball Escape puts colored balls on a compact grid and gives you matching holes to move across it. Your task is to clear the balls by bringing the correct hole to them. The opening board shows two orange balls near the top, two purple balls near the bottom, and a hole for each color between them. It is a spatial puzzle: the order and path of each drag matter more than how quickly you move.

The first level is a useful introduction because you can see the whole board at once. Drag the orange hole toward the orange pair, then guide the purple hole toward the purple pair. The balls disappear when collected, and a completion panel follows once the board is clear. Later boards may add arrangements you have not seen yet, so read the current layout rather than assuming the opening path will work unchanged.

Useful strategy

Plan one color at a time

  • Look at the full row or column of matching balls before dragging. A route that reaches both is more useful than a short move to only the nearest one.
  • Start with the hole whose matching balls have the clearest path. On the opening board, the orange pair is directly above the orange hole.
  • Keep the drag deliberate and inside the board. A large fast sweep makes it harder to see which balls were collected.
  • After the first color disappears, pause for a moment and trace the remaining color from its hole to its balls.
  • Treat the level label and any new feature indicator as progress information; do not assume a feature is already unlocked just because its icon is visible.
  • If input seems ignored, check whether a tutorial prompt or advertisement is still covering the board before trying another move.

Read the opening grid before dragging

At the start of Level 1, the useful information is all on the board. Two orange balls sit in the upper part of the grid, while two purple balls sit in the lower part. The holes lie between those groups. Their colors tell you which group each one is meant to collect. Before moving anything, find the hole you intend to use and look for a route that crosses every ball of that color. This prevents the common mistake of dragging the nearest object without a destination.

The visible tutorial says to drag the hole. It is easy to mistake a colored ball for the draggable piece because the balls are brighter and more numerous. Begin the gesture on the larger rectangular hole, not on a ball. Watch whether the hole follows the pointer. If the board does not respond, let go and check that your pointer began inside the hole. Avoid clicking repeatedly at unrelated parts of the screen; the game is asking for a continuous movement.

The colored groups also make the first move easier to evaluate. After moving the orange hole through the top pair, those orange balls should no longer be visible. The purple pair remains, so there is a clear next task. That immediate difference is more useful than trying to memorize a supposed perfect gesture. On a later level, take the same approach: compare the board before and after each drag, then choose a route based on what still needs clearing.

Make a clean route through matching balls

Place the pointer on a hole and hold the button while moving. On a touch screen, keep your finger on the hole as you guide it. A straight movement is a good first choice when matching balls line up, as the orange pair does in the opening level. If two balls are separated across adjacent cells, make a slight turn rather than releasing between them. The aim is to move the correct hole through both targets, not to throw a ball into a fixed goal.

Release only after the hole has crossed the intended targets. Then wait for the board to settle. In the opening level, moving the orange hole up through the two orange balls removes them and leaves the purple pair. The next useful movement begins on the purple hole and goes toward the lower purple balls. After that movement, the Level 1 completion panel appears. This shows why checking between moves matters: the game gives a visible answer after each color.

A path that looks close to a ball may not actually cross it. If a matching ball stays on the board, start again from the hole’s current position and draw a more direct route through the center of that ball. Do not sweep over every cell at random. A controlled path lets you understand whether the problem was your starting point, your direction, or the color you chose. The board is small enough that one careful adjustment is usually more informative than several hurried swipes.

Recover when a ball remains

If you finish a drag and the level does not complete, look for the ball that remains. First check its color. If it differs from the hole you just moved, you have probably finished one group and need to switch holes. If it matches, trace a route from the current hole position through that ball. The important question is not whether the whole board moved; it is whether the correct hole passed through the specific target.

If no balls disappear at all, confirm that you dragged a hole rather than tapping one of the circular balls. Also check that an introductory prompt has cleared and that the player is not still showing an advertisement. The game can display a Close Ad button before the grid is usable. Wait for the game board itself and use its own objects as your input targets. Clicking the advertisement, or trying to drag through an overlay, will not solve the puzzle.

Do not confuse the three-star level result with a claim about every future board. The opening level finishes when both color groups are cleared, and its result panel shows Level 1 completed. The panel also displays progress toward a new feature. That is a sign of later progression, not an instruction to use an unavailable feature right now. Continue from the result screen when you are ready, and read the next board afresh before making a move.

Choose your next short color puzzle

Color Ball Escape is satisfying when you want a small board, visible color groups, and a direct result from each drag. If you prefer putting everyday items into the right places, Sweet Order: Sort It All! turns the sorting task into a different arrangement puzzle. If your favorite part is watching colorful pieces clear from a board, Bubble Bloom offers a more traditional matching session. Those games share a color-reading task but ask for different movements, so the same route strategy should not be carried over unchanged.

For another round here, start by naming the remaining colors and their destinations. Move one hole at a time and check the board after each drag. You do not need to race a timer on the opening screen. A small intentional path is easier to correct than a broad sweep, especially when balls of different colors sit near each other. The best next move is the one that makes the remaining task clearer.

Quick answers

Color Ball Escape FAQ

What do I drag in Color Ball Escape?

Drag a colored hole across the grid. Move it through balls of the matching color to clear them.

How do I clear Level 1?

Move the orange hole through the orange pair near the top, then move the purple hole through the purple pair near the bottom.

Why is one ball still on the board?

Check its color and trace a more direct path from the matching hole through that ball. A path beside the ball may leave it untouched.

Does the result panel mean every feature is unlocked?

No. The opening completion panel shows progress toward a new feature; follow the current level and any visible unlock state.
