Silent Hill: Townfall Blood Puzzle
Hints, Bags and the Ordell Door

This guide covers the blood-bag and transfusion-door sequence in Medical Center – Different, during Part 3’s Many Into One chapter. First nudge: compare the patient list with your map before experimenting with the machines. Then choose the stage where you are stuck. Exact pickup steps, machine placements and donor initials stay behind separate spoiler controls. You can ask for help with one stage without revealing every answer.

Independent, source-based guide to the PS5 and PC game. Published walkthroughs establish the solution; a PS5 reviewer documents Normal/Hinted settings. We did not independently replay every platform or build. Official patch 1.4.0 is reviewed below. This page has no Townfall player.

Find the stage that matches your problem

Still collecting
Use the patient list and map to identify a missing pickup or access route. The collection section explains the dependencies without requiring a whole-game walkthrough.
Facing wall machines
Compare the patient reports with the descriptions on the bags. This is a matching task, separate from finding your way through the wards.
At the Ordell dial
Identify the recipient and read the game’s compatibility clues. The full ring answer is in its own disclosure, so you can leave collection spoilers closed.

Blood puzzle hints: start with one small nudge

Hint 1: give your documents a job

Look for a patient list and compare it with your map. Before trying every machine, ask what each document helps you locate or interpret. A location clue and a description clue can both be useful without answering the same question. If that gives you a way forward, stop reading here and try it.

Keep a short note of the stage you are solving: find an item, reach a room, match an item, or open the final mechanism. When those jobs blur together, a clue that has already served its purpose can look like an unfinished instruction. Re-establishing the current task can be more useful than revealing another name.

Reveal Hint 2 — how the bag descriptions relate to the reports

Read each bag’s descriptive wording beside the patient report at a machine. Compare the meaning of symptoms and responses rather than sorting the bags alphabetically or by pickup order. Identify one clear relationship first, then check whether the remaining descriptions fit the remaining reports. You do not need the final donor initials to reason through this earlier matching stage.

Say the relationship to yourself before placing anything: this description refers to the same kind of problem described in that report. If you cannot explain a match, return to the wording rather than treating elimination alone as proof. The named answer table remains closed below.

Reveal Hint 3 — what to look at before turning the Ordell rings

Ask who the central label refers to. Inspect the Medical Wristband in Equipment for a clue about the recipient, while the wall information tells you how to interpret the surrounding donor labels. Use those two clues together before moving the rings. You are deciding which sources should reach the center, not simply making the largest number of paths connect.

Separate choosing the correct donors from aligning their routes. First write down your intended set, using the information in this particular room. Then trace each path across every ring boundary. This avoids changing your logical answer merely because the first arrangement you try does not line up.

Missing a blood bag: the complete collection route

Open this section only if you want pickup names and access steps. The ward and floor matter: the same room number can occur in different areas. Match the location to your current map before following a number. If you already have the required bags and can reach the final wall, skip directly to placement instead of retracing the route.

Reveal all five pickups and the route back — full collection spoilers
  1. From the initial central area, take the right corridor’s end door and vent to Alan Duncan’s bag and Zoe’s Patient List. Use Alan’s bag at the S.W. door machine, then its switch. Collect Sarah Watson’s bag in Ward S, Room 05.
  2. Get the Ward W Master Key in lower Room 04. Unlock Ward W Room 13; its ladder reaches Ward S’s upper Room 12 and Lesley Greer’s bag. Use Lesley at the central D.P. door machine and operate its switch.
  3. In Ward D, pass from Room 03 to Room 02 and use the elevator button to drop Matthew Clark’s bag. Reach Ward P through the vent at upper Room 06, continue through Room 07 and drop to lower Room 10.
  4. Collect George McEwan’s bag and the Ward P Master Key there. Use the key to unlock Room 10 and leave, then unlock Ward P Room 03 and retrieve Matthew’s bag at the elevator. Turn the valves in Ward D’s upper Rooms 05 and 10 to reopen the gates. Head to the ladder on the left side of that upper floor and climb back to the central area.

Final wall machines: the matching answer

Use this when you have returned to the central room and want the exact placements. Orient yourself facing the large double doors before reading left and right. The table includes the earlier access machines so you can distinguish a bag already used at a ward door from a bag still needed at the final wall.

After placing the final three bags, operate the transfusion switch to the left of the double doors. This opens the route to the ring mechanism; it does not finish that next puzzle for you. The two earlier bags have already been used at the ward entrances.

The S.W. label at the access door is not an instruction to use the donor with those initials. That entrance takes Alan’s bag. S.W. on the later donor dial identifies Sarah Watson; read the label in the context of the machine you are using.

Ordell donor rings: the complete target

The final room asks a different question from the patient-report matches. Use its recipient clue and the game’s compatibility display. If you want to solve the rings yourself, stop after Hint 3. The next control reveals the recipient’s type, the donor set and how to confirm the completed connection.

Reveal the donor answer and original logic diagram — full door spoilers

ORDELL is Simon Ordell. His Medical Wristband identifies A+. The room’s compatibility information allows O−, O+, A− and A+. The matching donors present on this mechanism are H.M. (Hannah McGregor, O−), T.F. (Thomas Fergusson, O+) and S.W. (Sarah Watson, A+).

Connect H.M., T.F. and S.W. to ORDELL. Other donor paths stay disconnected. This illustrates the target set, not the ring geometry.H.M. · O−T.F. · O+S.W. · A+ORDELL · A+

Rotate the rings until continuous paths connect only those three initials to the center. Trace every junction to check for an unwanted donor as well as a missing one. Then interact with the central ORDELL control to open the door. A connected-looking picture still needs that final confirmation.

Use the diagram as a checklist for the target, not as a fixed number of clockwise clicks. Your current ring arrangement may already include moves you tried. Re-evaluate which paths are connected after each change instead of starting an unverified rotation sequence from an unknown position.

If the door stays closed, check the stage

First identify which door is still closed. A ward access machine, the central double doors and the final ring door have different prerequisites. Applying a correct final answer at an earlier machine will not complete the route that leads to it. Compare what is visibly installed with the relevant section before changing your interpretation of the clue.

Review the documents you collected, the earlier machine placements and the switches you operated. PowerPyx cautions that puzzle progression can depend on obtaining relevant clues. That is a reason to revisit missing steps, not proof that every failure at this door is caused by one particular document.

If your names, reports or mechanism differ from the described encounter, note your platform, installed version and location before seeking more help. Do not force an answer for another puzzle onto this one. Describe the last step that visibly worked; it gives a helper a clearer starting point than saying the entire hospital is broken.

Normal, Hinted and the October patch

Lewis Maddison’s TechRadar review documents a PS5 Normal completion and switching between Normal and Hinted puzzle settings. It describes the difference as highlighting important clue text. The published evidence supports the same underlying clue logic; it is not our independent certification of every platform, patch or starting ring arrangement.

Konami’s October 8 patch 1.4.0 identifies menu build v1.5.154194. It changes The Weight’s grab to heavy damage on Story and Normal, rather than the older unconditional instant-death description. Damage can still be dangerous. The notes also improve pursuit behavior and separately change Remote Systems/Aux puzzle information; they do not announce a new blood-puzzle answer.

Blood-bag puzzle FAQ

Can I reveal only the final door answer?

Yes. Jump to Ordell donor rings and expand its answer. The collection and placement sections stay closed unless you open them. To keep the puzzle mostly intact, start with the visible first hint and reveal only the next clue you need.

Does my bag count mean I lost an item?

Compare what you collected with what is already installed by opening the placement disclosure. It explains the progression details without putting the answer in these ordinary FAQ paragraphs. You can leave that section closed if you only want a gentle hint.

Is this the AUX or pipe puzzle?

This page covers the Medical Center blood-bag sequence and Ordell transfusion door. AUX Line and later engineering puzzles are separate tasks. Match the location and mechanism before using a solution found under a broad Townfall puzzle search.
